SESSION 1: FUNDAMENTALS OF LAYERING
This lesson we will see learners going through the 3 fundamental shapes in men's hairdressing followed by diagram training on provided head sheets to encourage a visual and technical understanding.
Before understanding anything in MENS hair, first we have to learn about structure and how systematic cutting helps control our level of discipline which in turn encourages precision cutting.
On this day you will learn:
- How to asses when to layer hair
- How to section hair precisely
- Understanding of the 3 geometric shapes
- How posture will balance your haircut
- Overhand technique and its advantage

SESSION 2: FUNDAMENTALS OF GRADUATION
Session 3 students will be learning how to approach graduation through the use of scissors building weight and understanding connectivity. Students will grasp the understanding of pure graduation through when, why and how.
On this day we begin to explore a modern way of creating a graduation with a twist and excess nape length. We will learn more about finger angles and the differences it will create so we may understand more about lighter and heavier weight-lines and the different hair types.
On this day you will learn:
- Finger position
- Tension
- Difficult crown areas
- Vertical, horizontal, diagonal, the key differences
- The formula to consistency

SESSION 3: CORE OF MENSPIRE
This is our most favoured course that entails demonstrations, consultation and step by step guided instructed practical session. All encompassing this first day will give the learner an insight to the fundamental teachings at MENSPIRE to help build confidence all round.
